Lemuel 'David' Hamilton, 100, of Wake Village, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020. He was born on March 2, 1920, in Springfield, Missouri to Roy and Ida Mae Hamilton. David served as a member of the 327th Medical Battalion attached to the U.S. Army's 102nd Ozarks Infantry Division in WWII. He was a Mason and retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing, watching wrestling, and old westerns. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Mae Hamilton; wife, Goldie O. Hamilton; his siblings, Doris Irons, Donald Hamilton, R. J. Butch Hamilton, Jr. and Dorothy Harrison; his daughter Davetta Hamilton Clark, and his grandson Thomas Clark. He is survived by: his children, Ida Jean Kennedy and husband, (C.B.) of Texarkana and Judy Hamilton Ervin of Wake Village. Texas; his grandchildren David Beal of Texarkana, Texas; Mark Beal of Lake Worth, Florida; Beverly Cobb of Longview, Texas; Matt Beal of Tyler, Texas; Missy Clark Warren (James) of Largo, Florida; Alicia Ervin Cotabish (Dennis) of Conway, Arkansas; and Aaron Ervin (Shelly) of Texarkana, Arkansas as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. The funeral Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2020, at East Funeral Home located at 602 Olive Street in Texarkana, Texas and will be available for viewing at www.facebook.com/eastfuneralhome. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020. Masks are required. The service will be officiated by great-grandson, Blake Goodwin of Conway, Arkansas. His grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Condolences may be made at www.eastfuneralhomes.com.
