EVELYN SMITH

Lou Evelyn Smith, 80, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, July 29, 2008, in a local hospital. <br />Mrs. Smith was born April 30, 1928, in Nathan, Ark. She was a homemaker and a member of Walnut Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton R. Smith, and one daughter, Patricia Woodruff. <br />Survivors include four daughters, Mildred Winchell of Austin, Ann Colley of Lubbock, Texas, and Carolyn Hardy and Betty Sutton of Texarkana; two sons, Wayne Smith of Monticello, Ark., and Harvey Smith of Texarkana; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Walnut Church of Christ with Dr. John H. Cannon Jr., and Tommy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Walnut Church of Christ Building Fund, 2720 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas, 75503. <br />Relatives will be at 4504 Sanderson Lane, Texarkana, Ark. <br />Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com. <br />
