ADDIE BENSON

HOPE, Ark.—Addie Mae Briggs Benson, 74, of Nashville, Ark., died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in Nashville. <br />Mrs. Benson was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Ozan, Ark. She was formerly employed with Benson Nursing Home, Leisure Lodge Nursing Home, Nashville Crate and Home Health, former member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Nashville, chairperson of Board of Evangelism, and a member of Missionary Society, Stewardess Board, Dorcas Sunday School Class and New Light Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Nashville. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ramona Ann. <br />Survivors include her husband, Fletcher Benson of Nashville; four sons, Jimmy Lee Trotter, Clarence Benson, Marlon Benson and Michael Benson of Nashville; two daughters, Vickie Swight of Nashville and Tangya Benson of Garland, Texas; one brother, James Briggs of Nashville; three sisters, Lucille Anderson and Anne Bell Muldrow of Nashville and Rosa Lord of Peoria, Ariz.; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Light CME Church, Nashville. Burial will be in Benson Cemetery under direction of Hicks Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be noon to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the home of Vickie Swift, 1217 South Main Street, Nashville. <br /> <br />
