LEONARD BASS

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Leonard Bass, 90, of Mount Pleasant died Wednesday, July 28, 2009, in Denison, Texas. <br />Mr. Bass was born Dec. 2, 1918, in County Line, Texas. He was retired from Purolator Courier, a former member of Nevills Chapel Baptist Church and a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Denison, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Ann Bass; one grandson, Wetzel Bass; and three great-grandchildren. <br />Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nora and Rusty Denny of Denison and Lana and Glen Kocurck of Carthage, Texas; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Merrill and Emma Bass and Gary and Paula Bass of Mount Pleasant; two sisters, Sally Ruth Dobson and Oleta Thrift of Mount Pleasant; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Nevills Chapel Baptist Church with Glenn Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Wards Creek Community Cemetery under direction of Bates-Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
