J.S. GRIFFIN

Jefferson Samuel Griffin, 85, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Griffin was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Bowie County, Texas. He was a retired route salesman with Ideal Bakery, a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and an Army veteran. <br />Survivors include his wife, Irene Griffin; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Wendell Puckett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Jan Griffin and Mark and Cheryl Griffin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Mike Powell officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.texarkanafuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
