WILLIAM DAVIS

DE QUEEN, Ark.—William Hugh Davis, 86, of Horatio died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Davis was born Sept. 20, 1922, in Vandervort, Ark. He was a cattleman, a Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by one wife, Modena Frachiseur Davis. <br />Survivors include his wife, Marion Louise Reed Davis of Horatio; five sons, Larry Hugh Davis and Jacob Atwood of Horatio, James Atwood of Cloudy, Okla., Matthew Atwood of Austin and Johnny Atwood of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Kathryn Lyn McKinney of De Queen, Annie Mae Cogburn of Holdenville, Okla., and Martie Springer of Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Dora Marea McGregor of Waco, Texas; six grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Chandler Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Hebert officiating. Burial will be in Grannis Cemetery, Grannis, Ark. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.chandlerfuneral.com. <br /> <br />
