GOLDEN WEST

Golden Ruth West, 87, of Texarkana, Ark., died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at her home. <br />Mrs. West was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Ada, Okla. She was retired from David Lipscomb University, former president of the Colonial Garden Club and a member of Walnut Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband. Augustus Lee West; one son, Calvin David West; and one grandson, Timothy Edwards Hicks. <br />Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Lee Hicks; four sisters, Jean Johnston, Noasha Nelson and Barbara Lewis of Daingerfield, Texas, and Shirley Freudenthal of Mount Pleasant, Texas; one brother, Tommy Adcox of Tyler, Texas; one grandson, David Wayne Hicks; one great-grandson, Jared Hicks; one special nephew and spouse, Dr. Terrance and Bettie Davis of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at East Funeral Home, Moores Lane, with Dr. John Cannon and Jasper Howard officiating.
