SAM RYAN

Samuel John Ryan, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Ryan was born Oct. 18, 1923, in El Dorado, Ark. He was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant, a member and governor of the Optimist Club and a Korean War and World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret McInnis Ryan. <br />Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Bridget Ryan Mahoney of Galveston, Texas, and Sherri and W. Jack White Jr. of Houston; and four grandchildren, Amanda Noelle Mahoney and Ryan Carter Mahoney of Houston and Erin Ryan White and Lindsay Margaret White of New York. <br />Services will be 3 p.m. today in Chapelwood Mausoleum with W.
