FLORENCE ALEXANDER

Florence E. Alexander, 92, of Texarkana, Ark., died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mrs. Alexander was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Mountain Home, Ark. She was retired from Ralph Brothers Laundry, a former employee of Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and a member of South Texarkana Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Veldon J. Alexander; and one daughter, Ruby Wendling. <br />Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Lee and Margaret Alexander of Texarkana; one daughter and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Kenneth Pierce of Waco, Texas, and Don Wendling of Altamont, Ill.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ellsworth Giles of Texarkana and Richard “Bud” and Faye Giles of Chickasha, Okla.; two sisters, Lillie Fay Westbrook of Livingston, Texas, and Marie Bolt of Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. today at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas, with the Rev.
