NELLE STEWART

Nelle Wallace Stewart, 96, of Austin, formerly of Texarkana, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2009. <br />Mrs. Stewart was born March 20, 1912, in Delta County, Texas. She was a schoolteacher, co-leader of Girl Scout Troop 24, former member of Highland Park Baptist Church and Beech Street Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school, and a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church, Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Stewart. <br />Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Michael V. McEnany of Houston; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Stewart of Austin; three grandchildren and two spouses, Michael Stewart and Mary Dawn McEnany of Houston, Sarah Stewart and James Wright of Dallas and Matthew David Stewart of Austin. <br />Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Feb. 28 at Westminster Manor, Austin, under direction of East Funeral Home, Downtown. <br />Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Highland Park Baptist Church, 2401 Hazel; Beech Street First Baptist Church, 601 Beech St.; or Westminster Manor, 4100 Jackson Avenue, Austin, TX 78731. <br />Online registration is at www.mem.com. <br /> <br />
