RUTH BUMPURS

HOPE, Ark.—Ruth Marie Bumpurs, 89, of Washington, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mrs. Bumpurs was born March 4, 1919, in Grandfield, Okla. She was a retired tour guide with Washington State Park and a member of D.A.R. and New Hope Baptist Church, Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Bumpurs, in 2001. <br />Survivors include two sons, Dwight Sloan of Fort Worth, Texas, and Kenneth Sloan of Foresthill, Calif.; one daughter, Janice Stallman of Davis, Calif.; three granddaughters and two grandsons-in-law, Kristie and Tim Palamar of Brisbain, Calif., Karen and Reagan Ferguson of Burleson, Texas, and Cynthia Stallman Bonin of Davis; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Ridling officiating.
