JAMES HARTFIELD

TYLER, Texas—James “Sonny” Hartfield, 65, of Lone Star, Texas, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, in a Longview, Texas, hospital. <br />Mr. Hartfield was born Jan. 20, 1943, in Hughes Springs, Texas. He was retired from the Air Force and Red River Army Depot and a member of Masonic Lodge Love Chapel Lodge No. 558, Hughes Springs. <br />Survivors include his wife, Mattie Hartfield of Lone Star; eight sons, Favian Hartfield and Kenneth Ray Hartfield of Fairfield, Calif., Mitchell Craig, Andrew Craig, Bobby Ray Craig and Sean Attaway of Hughes Springs and Gregory Attaway of Houston; four daughters, Dr. Cynthia Morrow of Ore City, Texas, and La’Wanda, Nykki and Tiffany Attaway of Hughes Springs; two brothers, Travis Hartfield of Inglewood, Calif., and the Rev. George Hartfield of Lassater, Texas; four sisters, Ruby Skinner of Lone Star, Georiga Julian of Dallas, Jessie Hick of Hughes Springs and Ethel Traylor of Ceador Hill, Texas; 26 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Murry League Baptist Church with James Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Love Chapel Cemetery under direction of Harmon Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
