BETTY DEWOODY

GURDON, Ark.—Betty Jo DeWoody, 81, of Gurdon died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, in Little Rock. <br />Mrs. DeWoody was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Prescott, Ark. She was an employee of Arkla Gas Co. and a member of Gurdon First United Methodist Church, where she was church secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. DeWoody. <br />Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Patterson of El Dorado, Ark., and Brenda Horne of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Gretchen Sanders of Springdale, Ark., Sandi Miller of Little Rock, Adam Buchanan of El Dorado and Tara Horne of Broomfield, Colo.; two sisters, Jackie Archer of El Dorado and Helen Purcell of Benton, Ark.; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. today at Gurdon First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery under direction of Pharr Funeral Home. <br />Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Gurdon. <br /> <br />
