CONNIE BURTON

Connie Ruth Burton, 51, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mrs. Burton was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Harlington, Texas. She was a retired nurse and a Pentecostal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Burton Jr. <br />Survivors include three daughters, Chanda Star Lewis and Sarah Ruth Slade of Texarkana and Jamila Dareece Slade of Magnolia, Ark.; one goddaughter, LaShunda Renee Pace of Dallas; three brothers, David Darius of Conway, Ark., Michael Darius of Cabot, Ark., and Robert Hensley of Abilene, Texas.; one sister, Loretta Jean Darius of Panama City, Fla.; and five grandchildren. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lyles Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Fair Haven Cemetery. <br />Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
