HARDING HARRIS SR.

Harding Harris Sr., 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, in a Katy, Texas, hospital. <br />Mr. Harris was born March 14, 1922, in Hope, Ark. He was a retired lead maintenance mechanic with Red River Army Depot, former senior vice commander of Otis Henry Post 2549, Veterans of Foreign Wars, member of Polly Chapel Baptist Church, where he was former chairman of Deacon Board, a Sunday school teacher and member of Brother Ministry, Senior Saints, male chorus, church transportation ministry and finance committee, and a World War II veteran. <br />Survivors include his wife, Gloria Anderson Harris of Texarkana; three sons, Harding Harris Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Thomas Harris and Jerry Harris of Houston; one stepson, James E. Anderson of Texarkana; one daughter, Patricia Ann Harris Leeks of Houston; one sister, Odie Bell Hampton of Rockford, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Polly Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Reginald G. Reid Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
