MANILA, Ark.—Kenneth Irvin Caery, 77, of Manila died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Caery was born in the Blackwater community. He was a retired general contractor and a former pastor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Griffin Caery, in 2008. <br />Survivors include two sons, Jon Caery of Clarksville, Ark., and Kent Caery of Texarkana; three stepdaughters, Deborah Bowes of Northrop, Colo., Rebecca Lappin of Harrisburg, Mo., and Susan Croce of St. Louis; two brothers, Jerry Caery Sr. of Elaine, Ark., and Charles Caery of DeKalb, Texas; three sisters, Ora Lee Castleman of San Jose, Calif., Willie B. Whitney of Manila and Trudene Hatcher of Covington, Tenn.; three grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. today at Howard Funeral Home with Dr. Guy Whitney Jr. and the Revs. Ferrel Duffel and William Piercy officiating.
