JOHN BABCOCK

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—John William Babcock, 77, of DeKalb, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Babcock was born March 4, 1931, in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He was a a food service manager with Furrs and a Navy veteran. <br />Survivors include two sons, Mark Babcock of Fort Worth, Texas, and James Babcock of DeKalb; two daughters, Diana Wolfe and Jonnie Heiber of Hempstead, Texas; one brother, Bud Babcock of Ruidosa, N.M.; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bates-Cooper-Sloan Chapel. <br />Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. <br />
