ASHDOWN, Ark.—Troy David Merrell, 78, of Ashdown died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mr. Merrell was born Jan. 24, 1930, in Little River County, Ark. <br />Survivors include eight children, Dewayne Merrell, Roger Dale Merrell, Danny “Dink” Merrell and Lonnie Merrell of Ashdown, Troy Merrell Jr. of Mineral Springs, Ark., Gayla Ann Merrell of Foreman, Ark., Sherry Jester of Kirby, Ark., and Terry Merrell of Nashville, Ark.; one brother, Wallace Merrell of Ashdown; two sisters, Mary Ruth Pickett of Ashdown and Louise Griffin of Fort Smith, Ark.; the mother of his children, Gladolia Merrell; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Millwood Baptist Church. Arrangements are under direction of Madden Funeral Services. <br />Visitation will follow the services at the home of Gladolia Merrell.
