MARGARET HAMMONS

NEW BOSTON, Texas—Margaret Ellen Creamer “Baw-Baw” Hammons, 94, of New Boston died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, in a Texarkana hospital. <br />Mrs. Hammons was born Nov. 14, 1914, in Texarkana, Ark. She was a dietitian at James Bowie Schools and a member of the Oak Terrace Mission. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. Hammons; and three sons, William “Mutt” Hammons, James Allen Hammons and Hubert Hammons. <br />Survivors include two sons, Paul Hammons of Hooks, Texas, and Tommy Hammons of Atlanta, Texas; three daughters, Barbara Prince of New Boston, Carolyn Lawrence of Plain Dealing, La., and Judy May of Bossier City, La.; three brothers, Gene Creamer of Dallas, Jessie Creamer of Warren, Texas, and Carroll Creamer of Pittsburg, Okla.; one sister, Rhea Greer of Giddings, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relative. <br />Services will be 2 p.m., Friday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Earhart and David Bryan Prince officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery, Simms, Texas. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.batesrolffuneralhome.com. <br /> <br />
