HUBERT PHILLIPS

DE QUEEN, Ark.—Hubert Edward Phillips, 88, of De Queen died Thursday, July 23, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Phillips was born June 22, 1921, in De Queen. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser, Dierks, Ark., and a member of De Queen Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by one wife, Edith Phillips, on Aug. 21 1984. <br />Survivors include his wife, Ruby Pell Phillips of De Queen; one son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Terriann Phillips of De Queen; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, John and Karen Pell; one stepdaughter, Barbara Martin; one sister, Mamie Hobbs of Grand Junction, Colo; two grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. today at Church of Christ with Van Ledbetter officiating.
