<br />RAYMOND SNOWDEN <br />CARTHAGE, Texas—Raymond Snowden, 81, of Carthage died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Snowden was born Oct. 12, 1927, in Prescott, Ark. He was a retired butcher for Safeway Groceries, Los Angeles, and a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Tatum, Texas. <br />Survivors include his wife, Mercedes Snowden of Carthage; one daughter, Marietta Snowden of Los Angeles; three sisters, Mernella Dixon of Prescott, Emma Washington of Nash, Texas, and Vernice Simon of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Joe Snowden of Texarkana; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church with Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Memorial Gardens, Tatum, under direction of Black’s Funeral Home. <br /> <br />
