JOHNIE McCORKLE

HOPE, Ark.—Johnie Lee McCorkle, 91, of Hope died Thursday, March 12, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mr. McCorkle was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Columbus, Ark. He was a retired foreman and saw operator for Bruner Ivory Handle Mill, Hope, and a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Hope. <br />Survivors include his wife, Anna Boyett McCorkle of Hope; two daughters and one son-in-law, Polly and Bob Langley of Tyler, Texas, and Peggy Floyd of Olive Branch, Miss.; one sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Herbert Chambless of DeAnn, Ark.; two grandchildren, Todd Langley of Columbus, Ohio, and Dawne Langley of Tyler; one great-granddaughter, Kerbie Langley of Tyler; and a number of other relatives. <br />Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Fischer and Earl Cumbie officiating under direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be after the service Sunday at the church. <br />Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Baptistry-Stained Window Fund, 315 South Main Street, Hope, AR, 71801. <br />Online registration is at www.brazzelfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br />
