BILLY CHAFFIN

HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Billy Gene Chaffin, 82, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Monday, March 23, 2009, in a Longview, Texas, hospital. <br />Mr. Chaffin was born July 15, 1926, in Norman, Okla. He was a self-employed carpenter, a member of Texas Road Runner RV Club and Veal Switch Baptist Church and a retired World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, Billy Michael Chaffin. <br />Survivors include his wife, Gaybe Chaffin of Daingerfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Ralph Polk of Daingerfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd “Bud” and Jeanne Chaffin of Rowlett, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Dee Cork of Denton, Texas; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 10 a.m. Wednes-day at Veal Switch Baptist Church with Butch Shipp and Carey Chaffin officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. in Cypress Cemetery, Winnsboro, Texas, under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.reeder-davis.com. <br /> <br />
