DAN GOYNES JR.

ATLANTA, Texas—Dan Hill Goynes Jr., 80, of Atlanta died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Longview, Texas. <br />Mr. Goynes was born June 20, 1928, in Jefferson, Texas. He was a logging contractor and a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ, Jefferson. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Goynes, in 2007; and one son, Freeman Goynes, in 2003. <br />Survivors include his wife, Mattie Goynes of Jefferson; three sons, Robert Earl Goynes of Green Bay, Wis., and Dan Hill Goynes III and Coleman Goynes of Jefferson; and two daughters, Diane Gholson of Carrollton, Texas, and Loretta Barry of Irving, Texas. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Church of Christ with Claude Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Douglas Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br /> <br />
