JEWELL JONES

Jewell Otis Jones, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Jones was born Dec. 17, 1915, in Redwater, Texas. He was a farmer, retired principal and former teacher at Arkansas High School, and a member of AARP 55 Alive, Gideons International, Arkansas Retired Teachers, Miller County Retired Teachers, National Education Association, National Association of Secondary Principals, PTA, Methodist Men, New Horizons for retirees, a member of Eylau Church and Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church; and a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Adelaide Stephens; and one son, Charles D. Jones. <br />Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Anita Henderson and Marylyn and Bill Hall; eight grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. <br /> <br />
