ROSIE THOMAS

JEFFERSON, Texas—Rosie Thomas, 81, of Jefferson died Saturday, May 9, 2009. <br />Mrs. Thomas was born Aug. 15, 1927, in Mansfield, La. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Thomas; one son; and one great-great-grandson. <br />Survivors include three daughters, Mary Smith and Joan Johnson of Jefferson and Gussie Woodrow of Houston; two sisters, Ineza Byrd and Irma Jean Bolton of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Jefferson Community Center with the Rev. Joseph R. James officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of Lewis & Walker Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />
