ELMER KRUSE

NAPLES, Texas—Elmer Kruse, 94, of Simms, Texas, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Kruse was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Simms. He was a retired gas truck driver with Barfield’s Propane Co., a deacon, and a member of Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Julie Perkins; two great-grandchildren, Reese Allen Kruse and Heath Kruse; and one great-great-grandchild, Joshua Davis. <br />Survivors include his wife, Mildred Kruse of Simms; one son and daughter-in-law, Horace Sr. and Della Kruse of New Boston, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Bill Baker of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lela and Chuck Cronk and Lena and Homer Hall of Longview, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wards Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Stroh and James Kesner officiating. Burial will be in Sand Hill Cemetery under direction of Harrison Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the church. <br />Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice, 5406 Summerhill Road Suite 3, Texarkana, TX 75503; or Sand Hill Cemetery Association, c/o Sandra Goodwin, 111 County Road 4260, Simms, TX 75574. <br /> <br />
