CHRISTELL GOSSAGE

ATLANTA, Texas—Christell Johnson Gossage, 84, of Atlanta died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Atlanta. <br />Mrs. Gossage was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Mount Vernon, Texas. She was a retired school teacher in Bacliff, Texas, and member of Springdale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one husband, Dr. M.Y. Johnson; and one daughter, Karen Rivera. <br />Survivors include her husband, Gene Gossage of Texarkana; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Stephanie Johnson of Liberia, Africa, and Harold and Caroline Johnson of Waxhaw, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ron Siemers of Houston; one sister, Winnell Martha Newberry Bankston Shreck of LaMarque, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Springdale Baptist Church with the Rev. James Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Texas, under direction of Hanner Funeral Service. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.hannerfuneralservice.com. <br /> <br />
