BERNICE KIRK

DE QUEEN, Ark.—Bernice Weaver Kirk, 88, of De Queen died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mrs. Kirk was born Sept. 9, 1921, in Shinewell, Okla. She was a homemaker, a former member and Sunday school teacher with Horatio First Baptist Church and a member of First Baptist Church, De Queen. She was preceded in death by her husband, France Edward Kirk; and one son. <br />Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Jermon and Billy Garrison of Tulsa, Okla., Sharon and Bill Tate of Snowflake, Ariz., Donna and Eddie Russell of Ashdown, Ark., and Dana and Earl Battiest of De Queen; one sister, Mabel Thomas of Albuquerque, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Chandler Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Hebert and Mike Peter officiating. Burial will be in Denison Cemetery, Idabel, Okla. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.chandlerfuneral.com.
