GERALD STANLEY

HOPE, Ark.—Gerald “Jerry” L. Stanley, 62, of Hope died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in a Texarkana hospital. <br />The Rev. Stanley was born April 7, 1947, in Greensboro, N.C. He was a pastor and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Christine “Chris” Stanley. <br />Survivors include his wife, Geri Guest Stanley of Hope; one son, Robert Bliss of Dallas; one daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Jeff Griffis of Hope; one sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Robert Stone of Carthage, N.C.; two nieces and nephews-in-law, Rhonda and Darrell Simmons of Pleasant Garden, N.C., and Angela and Trey Lynn of Cornelius, N.C.; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Ridling officiating.
