WINNIE BLACKMON

DE QUEEN, Ark.—Winnie Ruth Reid Blackmon, 80, of Grannis, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, in Dierks, Ark. <br />Mrs. Blackmon was born Sept. 14, 1929, in Sanco, Texas. She was a homemaker, a poultry farmer and a Sunday School teacher, secretary and member of Grannis United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Pete Blackmon; one granddaughter, Sandra Hale Blackmon; and one great-grandson, Sylas Mason. <br />Survivors include her husband, Lyn C. Blackmon of De Queen; three sons, John Blackmon of Darndenell, Ark., Daniel Blackmon of Holly Creek, Okla., and Darrell Blackmon of Dierks; one daughter, Pamela Bledsoe of Grannis; two sisters, Elaine Norvell of Robert Lee, Texas, and Pauline Thomas of Grannis; one brother, Isaac Reid of Grannis; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grannis United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Logan Blackmon and Charles Herring officiating. Burial will be in Grannis Cemetery under direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. <br />Online registration is at www.wilkersonfuneralhomes.com. <br /> <br />
