MARY JOHNSON

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Mary Johnson, 78, of Avery, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in a local nursing home. <br />Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Milton Johnson. <br />Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Barbara Merchant of Bogata, Texas, and Richard Johnson of DeKalb, Texas; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rosemary Holder of Daingerfield, Texas, Darlena and Tim Shimpock of Annona, Texas, and Carolyn and Rickey Gibson of Avery; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. today at Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. Louis Smith officiating.
