WALTER CUMMINGS

STAMPS, Ark.—Walter Ray Cummings, 83, of Buckner, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at his home. <br />Mr. Cummings was born Sept. 7, 1925, in Lewisville, Ark. He was retired from International Paper, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 49, and Liberty Baptist Church and a World War II Marine and Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Cummings. <br />Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry and Sue Ann Cummings of Stamps and Dan Cummings of Magnolia, Ark.; two daughters, Sheila Stanford of Buckner, Ark., and Linda Singleton of Beebe, Ark.; one sister, Maudie Foster of Houston; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home with Donnie Edwards and Ernie Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. <br />Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, Stamps. <br /> <br />
