HARRY COGELL

STATESBORO, Ga.—Harry Glen Cogell, 80, of Statesboro, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in a local hospital. <br />Mr. Cogell was born July 12, 1929, in Kenosha, Wis. He was a retired teacher with the Texarkana, Ark., and Texas school districts, a former member of First Lutheran Church, Texarkana, Texas, a member of St. Paulis Lutheran Church, Statesboro, and a Korean War Army veteran. <br />Survivors include his wife, Carol Torkelson Cogell of Statesboro; four children, Susan Johnson of Gloster, La., Harry Otto Cogell of Texarkana, Debra Akins of Statesboro and Steven Cogell of Dallas; two sisters, Patricia Ancevik of Kenosha and Janice Tomczak of Grantis Pass, Ore.; one brother, Dr. Wayne Cogell of Waynesville, Mo.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives. <br />Memorial services will be Sunday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sam Clay officiating. Burial will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Glenville, Ga., under direction of Joiner Anderson Funeral Home. <br />Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, or the East Georgia Regional Dialysis Center, Statesboro. <br />Online registration is at www.joineranderson.com. <br /> <br />
