JOHN STEWART

HOPE, Ark.—John Henry Stewart, 79, of Mineral Springs, Ark., died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in a Texarkana hospital. <br />Mr. Stewart was born Oct. 16, 1929. He was retired from Weyerhaeuser and a member of Tabernacle CME Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine C. Davis; and two daughters, Beryl L. Stewart and Brenda K. Stewart. <br />Survivors include six sons, John E. Stewart of Los Angeles, Carl R. Stewart of Inglewood, Calif., the Rev. Elroy Stewart and Eric L. Stewart of Mineral Springs, Allen W. Stewart of Piqua, Ohio, and Tony E. Stewart of Gainesville, Va.; two daughters, Joyce Lacy of Mineral Springs and Theresa L. Wilson of Indian Trail, N.C.; one sister, Oceolo Hendrix of Phoenix, Ariz.; 28 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 1 p.m. today at F.T. Jeans Memorial CME Church, Mineral Springs, with the Revs. Orlando Sutton and Elroy Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Schaal Cemetery, Tollette, Ark., under direction of Brandon’s Mortuary. <br /> <br />
