MARY HAMILTON

Mary Elizabeth Hamilton, 86, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, in a Texarkana hospital. <br />Dr. Hamilton was born March 23, 1924, in Augusta, Ark. She was retired from Southern Arkansas University, former director of the University’s Curriculum Center and Rosemary Rea Regional Arts in Education Center, a member of the Arkansas Archaeology Society, National Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Lions Club and Quota Club of Magnolia, Ark., Elks of Texarkana and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hamilton; and one great-granddaughter, Lecy Fowler. <br />Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Carla Nakata and Lee McBee of Lawrence, Kan., and Leslie L. Hamilton and Mary Janine Hamilton of Texarkana; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael W. and Donna Hamilton of Escondido, Calif.; one sister, Virginia Boyles of Augusta; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. <br />Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Russell Wilkins officiating. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Augusta Memorial Cemetery, Augusta, under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. <br />Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. <br />Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
