J.C. ARNOLD


J.C. Arnold, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Arnold was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Smith County in Tyler, Texas. He was a former Bowie County Commissioner, member of First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, where he served as deacon and a World War II Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by one son, T.L. Arnold; and one grandson, Chuck Arnold.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Arnold; one son and two daughters-in-law, Charles and Jo Ann Arnold of Lufkin, Texas, and Jean Arnold of Texarkana; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Harold and Betty Arnold and Viola Arnold; two sisters, Mildred Hooker and Dorothy McElvany; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane with the Revs. Larry Sims, Jeff Schreve and Bo Castleman. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens prior to services under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
