EVELYN SMITH

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—Evelyn “Nanny” Smith, 85, of Detroit, Texas, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 20, 1927. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Smith; one son, Jerry Von Smith; and one grandson, Robert Shawn Smith.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Tommy Chesshire; one son and two daughters-in-law, Jimmy Wayne and Peggy Smith; six grandchildren, Sammy Chesshire and T.J. of Paris, Texas, Eddie Chesshire and Tina Cadotte of Detroit, Brandie Owen of Blossom, Texas, and Jeffery of Bogata, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Bluff Cemetery. Burial will be under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
