GEORGE THOMAS JR.

George Monroe Thomas, 88, of Texarkana died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012.

Lt. Col. Thomas was born May 23, 1924, in Texarkana, Ark. He was retired from the Army, an employee of Texarkana College and a member of Williams Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was an usher and member of Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Kate Steger Thomas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Wesley Graham, Laura Ann and Christopher James Martineau; one son, John Russell Thomas; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Tommy Maher; three granddaughters; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Williams Memorial United Methodist Church. Arrangements will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

A reception will follow the services at the church.
