JOE BROWN

DEKALB, Texas—Joe Vance Brown, 69, of DeKalb died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Brown was born Jan. 9, 1943, in DeKalb. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, a rancher and member of Southern Cattlemen’s Association, American Quarter Horse Association and Spring Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son, Kelly Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Brown of DeKalb; one son, Jeff Brown of DeKalb; three daughters, Beth Ann Whillock, Jessica Brown and Cheyenne Monaghan of DeKalb; one stepson, Cameron Hill of New Boston, Texas; one stepdaughter, Eleisha Jones of Hooks, Texas; one brother, William B. Brown of DeKalb; one sister, Martha Barger of DeKalb; two great-grandchildren; and a number of grandchildren and other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Baptist Church with Augustine Alaniz and Jimmy Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery under direction of Bates Family Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
