NATHANIEL POWELL

Nathaniel Powell, 76, of Texarkana, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mr. Powell was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Chidester, Ark. He was retired from Applied Power Co., a Shriner and member of William Striverson Lodge 6, International Free and Accepted Modern Mason, Order of the Eastern Star, where he was Worthy Patron, Grand King Solomon and Past Master, and Tower of Power Ministries and Miracle Temple of Deliverance, where he was a charter member and deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Powell of Texarkana; seven sons, Girard Powell, Anthony Nash, Gregory Powell and Ricky Powell of Milwaukee, Byron Powell of Camden, Ark., Leroy Snell Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., and Marc Rouse of Charlotte, N.C.; six daughters, Adrianne Reaves, Jacqueline Shellaugh, Donna Coleman, Diane Hare, Lisa Powell-Lee and Andrea Snell-Ross of Milwaukee; seven brothers, Joe Louis Morehead of California, Edward Morehead, Isaiah Powell Jr., Jimmy Powell, Johnny Powell, Stanley Wayne Powell Sr. and the Rev. Calvin Powell Sr. of Arkansas; five sisters, Velma Morehead, Niece Davis, Mattie Davis, Mattie Powell, Marilyn Poole and Carolyn Williams of Arkansas; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bible Way Ministries with Anthony Nash officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Lyles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
