JOHN RITCHEY

CLARKSVILLE, Texas—John Neil “Pete” Ritchey, 87, of Detroit, Texas, died Friday, March 29, 2013, in a Texarkana hospital.

Mr. Ritchey was born Dec. 25, 1925, in Detroit. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant with the Air Force, owner of Detroit Nursery and The Detroit Cafe and a member of First Baptist Church, Detroit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Flippo Ritchey; and one daughter, Carol Jo Ritchey.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Ritchey; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Joy Ritchey of Maud, Texas, and Neil and Sandra Ritchey of Detroit; one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn Ryle and Mike Van Sicklen of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Ritchey officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Detroit Cemetery under direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
