MAMIE CORNELIUS

Mamie Lee Cornelius, 94, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, in a local hospital.

Ms. Cornelius was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Jefferson, Texas. She was retired from Day & Zimmermann and a former employee of Pine Street Junior High School and a member of New Town Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Cornell Cornelius of Benton, Ark., Alvin McCray and Alfred Cornelius of Texarkana; three daughters, Charlene Cornelius, Annette Cornelius and Doreen Cornelius of Texarkana; one sister, Bertha Washington of Nash, Texas; one cousin, Pearlie Kelley of San Francisco; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Closed casket services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at New Town Baptist Church with the Rev. L.B. George Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
