NEW BOSTON, Texas—Kathleen Elkins, 71, of Texarkana, Ark., died Friday, July 29, 2016, in an Ashdown, Ark., nursing home. Mrs. Elkins was born Feb. 3, 1945, in Texarkana. She was former owner of New Boston Dairy Queen, an author and a member of Eastern Star, Disciples Christian Fellowship and Tapp United Methodist Church, New Boston. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Paul and Robyn Elkins of Texarkana and Chris Elkins and fiancee Jana Wrenay Heck of Fayetteville, Ark.; one sister, Virginia McGee of Texarkana; one brother, Mark McGee of New Boston; one special friend, Jena Teer; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 4 p.m. today at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with A.M. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Ringwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
