Lora Lee Hickerson

Mrs. Lora Lee Hickerson, age 96, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Mrs. Hickerson was born August 28, 1923 in Myra, Louisiana and had lived in Texarkana for most of her life. She was a devoted member of Beech Street First Baptist Church where she had been active in the Joy Time Singers and the Women On Mission. She was a homemaker and retired florist with Collins Florist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Bill Hickerson, a son, Mike Hickerson, eight brothers and three sisters. Survivors include one son and two daughters-in-law, David and Robin Hickerson and Linda Hickerson Taylor all of Texarkana: four grandchildren, Holland (Brian) Harris, John David Hickerson, Lee Ann (Glenn) Strong, and Chad Hickerson; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Strong, Carly Strong, Remington Harris, Meagan Harris, and Grant Hickerson; one sister, Louise Patterson of Shafter, California; a special friend, Bobbie Heimer; and her caregiver, Princess Williams. A celebration of her life will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Beech Street First Baptist Church with Rev. Craig Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM Friday until service time. The family would like to thank Windsor Cottage and Encompass Hospice for their loving care to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
