Tommy Lynn Wharton

Tommy Lynn Wharton, of De Kalb, Texas, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 68. Tommy was born May 7, 1951, in De Kalb, Texas to John Ezra and Ola Fern Graham Wharton. He was a retired Electronic Technician with RRAD and a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a Disabled American Veterans Service Officer and Life Member. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Virginia Smith, Laverne Kempe, and Shirley Son; two brothers, Andrew Wharton and Jarvis Wharton. He is survived by one son, Jason Wharton; one daughter, Tina Wharton; his former wife, Kay Wharton; two sisters, Lenora Boughton and Jone Cates; three brothers, Loy Wharton, James Wharton, and Jimmy Wharton; one grandson, Elijah Wharton; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Due to the current health situation, services will be limited to a private family gathering under the direction of Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
