CHARLES JONES

Charles Jerry Jones, 85, of Texarkana, AR passed away November 19, 2020 at his home. Mr. Jones was born February 28, 1935 in Hope, AR to Carl B. and Mary Oneeta Shaw Jones. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a Graduate of Henderson State University. He retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections and was a former school teacher. Mr. Jones was a member of 1st Lighthouse Assembly of God Church where he taught The Senior Bible Class. He loved doing woodwork and refinishing furniture. Survivors include his brother, Carl Jack Jones of Texarkana, AR; sisters-in-law, Nell Jones of Hope, AR and Bobbie Jean Jones of El Dorado, AR; nephews, Mike Jones and wife, Polly of El Dorado, AR, Russ Jones and wife, Sherry of Hope, AR and Ken Jones and wife, Benita of El Dorado, AR. Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, November 23, 2020 at 1st Lighthouse Assembly of God Church with Pastor Josh Lee and Rev. Hal Haltom officiating. Burial will be in Rondo Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown. Come and go visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the funeral home.
