Bennie Neil Lann

Bennie Neil Lann of De Kalb, Texas passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital. He was 89. Bennie was born October 26, 1932 in De Kalb, Texas to Sanders Washington and Vida Ann Chasteen Lann. He was retired from Day & Zimmerman where he worked in security. Bennie was a member of First United Methodist Church in De Kalb, Texas and the De Kalb Masonic Lodge #9. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary J. Mayes; and two brothers, Jimmy Lann and Wayne Lann. He is survived by his wife, Linda Mosely Lann of De Kalb, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Monica and Ricky Blackburn of De Kalb, Texas and Melinda and Doug Suttle of De Queen, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Shelia and Albert Jozwiak of Yorktown, Texas; one sister-in-law, Ouida Lann of De Kalb, Texas three granddaughters, Katie Suttle of Rogers, Arkansas; Cassie Anderson and her husband, Jimmy of Texarkana, Texas, and Dee Downing of De Queen, Arkansas; one grandson, Kevin Blackburn of Dallas, Texas; six great grandsons, Josh Downing, Hayden Batrice, Ethan Batrice, Drake Blackburn, Isaiah Anderson, and Alex Anderson; and numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Rev. Amanda Stratton and Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Hubbard Cemetery in De Kalb, Texas. Visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas.
