HARVEY HUBBARD SR.

Harvey William Hubbard Sr. of Atlanta, Texas passed away at the age of 86 on December 3, 2021. Harvey was born on October 25, 1935 in Drumright, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of three children to Chester Ermon and Alice Valdona Hubbard. After high school, Harvey joined the Navy where he served from 1955-1959. Shortly after his return to civilian life, he met Kathrine Elizabeth Schroyer. After dating for several months, they got married in September of 1959. They lived in several bay area cities in California over the next 12 years. During that time, they had two sons – Harv and Scott. Harvey worked several jobs while in California including Container Corporation of America. In 1972, Harvey and family moved to Atlanta where he went to work at International Paper Co. Harvey worked at IP from November 1972 until he retired in December of 2000. After retirement, Harvey enjoyed golfing as much as possible – especially when he beat his golfing buddy, Howard. Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Ermon, in 1991; his mother, Valdona, in 2002; his sister, Judy, in 2004; his father-in-law, Andy, in 1984; his mother-in-law, Jeanette, in 2017; and his sister-in-law, Joanie, in 2021. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kathy; sons Harv Hubbard and wife Stephanie of Atlanta, TX, and Scott Hubbard and wife Susan of Lufkin, TX; brother Gene Hubbard and wife Shirley of Maxwell, NE; brother-in-law Jerry Cooper of Broken Arrow, OK; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gary Davis officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery.
