Shirley Ann Gillcoatt Rosencrantz, 86, passed away March 26, 2022, at Hospice of Texarkana, Texas. Shirley was born December 14, 1935, and grew up on the family farm near Lodges Corner, AR. After graduation from DeWitt High School and then Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She pursued a teaching career in Spring Hill, Texas just outside of Houston, and then returned to the Arkansas Grand Prairie to teach in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Shirley married Jo L. Rosencrantz, III on July 23, 1960, at Lodges Corner United Methodist Church. A retired teacher, she was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who never met a stranger. Shirley was a 4-H club leader, member of Arkansas Genealogy Society, Grand Prairie Historical Society and an active member of United Methodist Women at both Grand Avenue and Lodges Corner United Methodist Churches and at the district level. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jo L. Rosencrantz III, her parents, Lester Leon Gillcoatt and Emma Jean Carson Gillcoatt of Stuttgart, AR. Shirley is survived by one son, Jo L. Rosencrantz of Bozeman, MT; two daughters, Angela Rosencrantz of Stuttgart and Leigh Rosencrantz Davis of Texarkana, Texas; and one much loved grandson, Walker Noel Davis of Texarkana, Texas. She also leaves behind many friends and extended family. Services will be held Sunday, April 3, at 3:00 p.m. at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church, Stuttgart, Arkansas.
